
Grilled Fish for One
A simple grilled fish meal in a single serving.

Do not overcook the fish; grill just until it flakes easily.
Ingredients
- one, as desired fish
- 1 piece onion
- 1 piece potato
- garlic garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- half a teaspoon white pepper
- half a teaspoon dried coriander
- salt salt
- lemon juice lemon juice
- olive oil olive oil
- optional thyme
- regular skewer skewer
- parchment paper parchment paper
- serving plate serving plate
- toothbrush designated for cleaning toothbrush
- if available in the market ready-made fish seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C, with top and bottom heat, 15 minutes before preparation.
- In a bowl, mix the following spices: cumin, white pepper, dried coriander, and salt.
- Slice the garlic, cut the onion into rings, and cut the potato into thick slices.
- Peel the lemon and remove its white pith to prevent bitterness.
- Season the vegetables with a little olive oil in a bowl or on the work surface.
- Clean the fish thoroughly on a clean surface, removing the dark matter along the backbone or inside the cavity with a toothbrush designated for cleaning.
- Lightly open the fish along the side with a knife and make slashes in it to help it cook more quickly.
- Place parchment paper in the oven tray or on a suitable baking tray.
- Arrange the potato in the tray, then add the onion, then the garlic, then the optional thyme if using.
- Place the fish on top of the vegetables in the tray, then stuff its cavity with the onion, garlic, and lemon.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture over the fish, then drizzle olive oil over it.
- Close the fish in parchment paper inside the tray, then secure it with a regular skewer.
- Put the tray in the oven at 200°C, with top and bottom heat, for approximately half an hour.
- Once the fish is cooked, open the parchment paper, then return the tray to the oven using top heat only for 7 to 10 minutes, until browned.
- Transfer the fish to the serving plate, then add fried garlic optionally, if desired.
