Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Spread the kunafa from the bag into a suitable bowl.
  2. Lightly mist the frozen kunafa with water in the bowl to moisten it.
  3. Shape the kunafa inside a suitable mold or cup to create a bulbul nest shape.
  4. Arrange the kunafa on a baking dish or tray, leaving spaces in the shape.
  5. Leave the shaped kunafa in a suitable place for 4 to 5 hours or until the next day; it is preferable to direct a fan at it so it dries.
  6. Turn the kunafa shape out of the mold after it has dried and set its shape.
  7. Fill the kunafa with Aleppo pistachios or cashews as desired.
  8. Immerse the kunafa in ghee in a suitable tray or dish, so that the ghee reaches approximately halfway up.
  9. Place the tray in the oven on the lower heat at 200 degrees until the bottom portion is cooked.
  10. Move the tray to the upper part of the oven so it takes on a light color from above.
  11. Drain off the excess ghee after removing it from the oven.
  12. Pour cold, thick syrup over the kunafa after it has cooled slightly.
