Mdalaleh Kunafa

Mdalaleh Kunafa

A type of kunafa with a soft filling or special mixture, as the name suggests.

A kunafa-style dessert made with a soft filling or mixture, based on the title's special kunafa name.

Like a stuffed Middle Eastern cheese dessert.

Kunafa usually needs careful baking so the outside turns golden while the filling stays soft.

Ingredients

  • 500 g spaghetti
  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • 1 large cup ghee
  • 100 g to 200 g ashta or cream cheese
  • as needed pistachios
  • for soaking, enough to cover the spaghetti water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, divide the package of spaghetti into three pieces.
  2. In a bowl, cover the spaghetti with cold water and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. In a colander, drain the spaghetti well so that no water remains in it.
  4. In a pot over medium heat, add the drained spaghetti with the ghee.
  5. In the pot, stir the spaghetti continuously and mash it as it cooks.
  6. In the pot, add the sugar syrup after the spaghetti is cooked and stir the mixture well.
  7. In the pot, a masher or mixing tool may be used instead of mashing by hand to make stirring easier.
  8. In the pot, leave the kunafa until it cools slightly.
  9. In a bowl, rub the kunafa with your hands after it has cooled slightly until it holds together.
  10. On a serving plate, place the finished mixture and garnish the top with pistachios.
