Potato Dough Pizza

Pizza made with a potato-based dough instead of regular dough.

Like a crust made from mashed potato or potato dough.

Ingredients

  • 200 ml Milk
  • 100 g Flour
  • 100 ml Olive oil
  • 250 g Mozzarella cheese
  • Mushrooms
  • Pizza sauce
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Olives
  • Mixed-color bell peppers
  • 250 g Potatoes
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, grate the potatoes and wash them four or five times, until the washing water runs clear.
  2. In a colander or bowl, drain the potatoes and squeeze them well.
  3. In a bowl, beat the 2 eggs.
  4. In the mixing bowl, add the milk, olive oil, salt, and oregano to the eggs and mix together.
  5. In the mixing bowl, add the flour gradually, whisking until no lumps remain.
  6. In the mixing bowl, add the grated potatoes and mix the batter.
  7. In the oven, preheat the oven to 225°C with top and bottom heat.
  8. In a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spread out the batter and level it to an even thickness.
  9. In the oven, bake the dough for about 7 minutes, until half-cooked.
  10. In the oven, remove the tray, then prick the dough with a fork if it has puffed up.
  11. On the dough in the baking tray, spread the pizza sauce.
  12. On the dough in the baking tray, distribute the mozzarella cheese.
  13. On the dough in the baking tray, add the mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, mixed-color bell peppers, and olives.
  14. In the oven, return the tray at the same temperature and leave it for about 15 minutes, until cooked through and browned.
  15. In the oven, move the tray to the lower rack if the top has browned while the bottom is still undercooked.
  16. In the oven, switch on the top heat only at the end if the top needs extra color.
  17. On the serving surface, garnish the pizza with basil leaves, then slice and serve hot.
