Apricot Drink with Orange

A fruit drink made with qamar al-din apricot paste and orange.

Like a thick apricot-orange juice.

Qamar al-din is an apricot fruit leather or paste used for drinks in Ramadan.

Ingredients

  • 1 package, 400 g Qamar al-din
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 liter Water
  • optional Blanched almonds
  • a little Ice

Instructions

  1. Open the package of qamar al-din on the kitchen work surface.
  2. Cut the qamar al-din with a knife on a cutting board in the kitchen into small squares.
  3. Place the qamar al-din pieces in a bowl in the kitchen.
  4. Add 1 liter of water to the bowl in the kitchen.
  5. Add 1 cup of sugar to the bowl in the kitchen.
  6. Leave the bowl in the kitchen for the qamar al-din to soak for 12 hours to overnight.
  7. Transfer the soaked qamar al-din mixture from the bowl to the blender in the kitchen.
  8. Run the blender in the kitchen for 3 minutes, until the drink is smooth.
  9. Pour the drink from the blender into a pitcher or serving glasses in the kitchen.
  10. Add a little ice to the serving glasses in the kitchen.
  11. Garnish the serving glasses in the kitchen with a little blanched almonds, if desired.
  12. Serve the drink cold in serving glasses.
