
Butter, Lemon, and Garlic Shrimp
Shrimp cooked in a butter and garlic sauce with lemon and mild spices, served hot.
Shrimp cooked in a buttery garlic sauce with lemon and warm spices, served hot as a simple seafood dish.
Shrimp cooks quickly, so it should stay tender, not rubbery. The sauce is meant to taste bright, buttery, and lightly spiced.
Ingredients
- sea shrimp
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 150 g butter
- 8 cloves garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon salt
- lemon juice
- cilantro, parsley, or dill
- zest of 2 lemons grated lemon zest
- a little olive oil
Instructions
- In a frying pan, clean and peel the sea shrimp, remove the visible black vein along the back, then wash them.
- In a bowl, mix the spices together, except for the flour, then add the grated lemon zest if using.
- In a bowl, season the shrimp with the spice mixture, then leave them briefly to absorb the flavor.
- In another bowl, mix the flour with some of the same spices used to season the shrimp.
- In the frying pan, melt the butter over low heat; a little olive oil may be added if needed.
- In the frying pan, add the sliced garlic to the butter.
- In the frying pan, add the seasoned shrimp and cook over low heat.
- In the frying pan, cover the shrimp, then turn them after about 2 minutes.
- In the frying pan, leave the shrimp until the second side is cooked and develops a nice color.
- In the frying pan, add the lemon juice.
- In the frying pan, add cilantro, parsley, or dill over the top at the end.
