Ingredients
- 1/2 kilo Date paste
- 1/2 cup or 110 g Ghee
- 3 tablespoons Powdered milk
- half a cup Yogurt
- 1/2 cup or 100 g Sugar
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon Mahleb
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- Aleppo pistachios
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the date paste, then leave it as is or use it as is, depending on the consistency shown in the video.
- In another bowl, mix the ghee with the powdered milk, sugar, yogurt, flour, baking powder, and mahleb until a dough forms.
- In the same bowl, knead the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully combined.
- In a bowl, cover the dough and leave it to cool or rest.
- In a bowl, prepare the date filling or ajwa until it becomes a soft paste.
- On the work surface, roll out a portion of the dough.
- Over the rolled-out dough, spread a layer of date filling.
- On the work surface, fold the dough over the filling from the edges until it is sealed.
- On the work surface, press with a fork to pattern the biscuit surface and mark the portions.
- On a baking tray, cut the biscuits into equal pieces.
- In the oven, bake the biscuits until cooked through.
- After removing them from the oven, leave them to cool, then serve.
