Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo Date paste
  • 1/2 cup or 110 g Ghee
  • 3 tablespoons Powdered milk
  • half a cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup or 100 g Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon Mahleb
  • 3 tablespoons Ghee
  • Aleppo pistachios

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add the date paste, then leave it as is or use it as is, depending on the consistency shown in the video.
  2. In another bowl, mix the ghee with the powdered milk, sugar, yogurt, flour, baking powder, and mahleb until a dough forms.
  3. In the same bowl, knead the mixture well until all the ingredients are fully combined.
  4. In a bowl, cover the dough and leave it to cool or rest.
  5. In a bowl, prepare the date filling or ajwa until it becomes a soft paste.
  6. On the work surface, roll out a portion of the dough.
  7. Over the rolled-out dough, spread a layer of date filling.
  8. On the work surface, fold the dough over the filling from the edges until it is sealed.
  9. On the work surface, press with a fork to pattern the biscuit surface and mark the portions.
  10. On a baking tray, cut the biscuits into equal pieces.
  11. In the oven, bake the biscuits until cooked through.
  12. After removing them from the oven, leave them to cool, then serve.
