
Street Sandwich
A quick sandwich with a savory filling, served as a snack or fast meal.
A quick stuffed sandwich made as a fast snack or meal.
Like a simple stuffed street-food sandwich.
Ingredients
- 600 g chicken breast
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- juice of 1/2 lemon lemon juice
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 200 g fresh or canned mushrooms
- 1 medium onion
- 1 red bell pepper
- 2 green bell peppers
- 1/2 cup corn
- mentioned without an amount butter, for frying
- mentioned without an amount tortilla bread
- mentioned without an amount Cheddar or Kashkaval cheese
- mentioned without an amount mayonnaise
Instructions
- In a bowl, cut the chicken breast into strips or fingers.
- In the same bowl, mix the chicken with soy sauce, salt, the juice of 1/2 lemon, olive oil, garlic powder, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, curry powder, and white pepper.
- In the same bowl, leave the chicken coated in the marinade, or begin cooking it immediately as the chef did.
- In a frying pan over high heat, melt the butter.
- In the same pan, add the chicken and stir it until it browns underneath and cooks through without releasing its juices.
- In another pan, or in the same pan after removing the chicken, add the sliced onion over high heat until it softens slightly.
- In the same pan, add the red bell pepper and green bell peppers, and stir while keeping them firm.
- In the same pan, add the sliced mushrooms and stir them with the vegetables.
- In the same pan, add the corn and stir briefly, then turn off the heat.
- In a clean pan, or after returning the vegetables and chicken to the pan, add the chicken over the vegetables and stir briefly.
- In a pan or on a suitable surface, place the tortilla bread.
- On the tortilla bread, add mayonnaise as mentioned by the chef.
- On the tortilla bread, add Cheddar or Kashkaval cheese.
- On the tortilla bread, add the chicken and vegetable filling.
- Over the filling, add more cheese.
- In the pan, toast the sandwich over medium heat until the cheese melts and the bread is toasted.
- In the pan or on a serving board, serve the sandwich hot.
