Sujuk

Preparation of sujuk seasoned with garlic and spices.

A recipe for sujuk, a spiced sausage preparation.

Like a seasoned sausage mixture.

This is a meat-based sausage preparation, so seasoning and shaping are key.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram ground meat
  • garlic
  • as needed salt
  • fat
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • cumin
  • red pepper
  • coriander
  • anise
  • 1 tablespoon seven-spice blend
  • ginger
  • red pepper paste
  • pickled cucumbers
  • bread
  • water
  • ice
  • yogurt

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan or pot over medium-high heat, heat one-quarter cup of Mazola oil.
  2. In the same pan, add the crushed garlic and stir briefly until fragrant.
  3. In the same pan, add 1 kilogram of finely ground meat and stir the mixture gently.
  4. In the same pan, add the salt and stir it into the meat.
  5. In the same pan, add the black pepper, seven-spice blend, sujuk spice blend, dried coriander, and ginger, then continue stirring.
  6. Leave the meat over medium heat to cook slowly, reducing the heat if necessary.
  7. In the same pan, add the red pepper paste in two or three additions, according to the amount mentioned in the instructions.
  8. After it is fully cooked, cook the mixture in the pan for approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
  9. Toast the sandwich bread over the heat with a light brushing of Mazola oil.
  10. Fill the sandwich with the sujuk mixture according to the size of the sandwich and the amount of meat each person prefers.
  11. Add pickles to the sandwich itself or on the bread, as desired, as mentioned in the instructions.
  12. To prepare ayran, place one-half kilogram of yogurt in the blender jar.
  13. In the same blender jar, add about one-half cup of water and a little ice.
  14. Run the blender until the ayran is combined.
