
Crunchy Dessert for Kids and Adults
This recipe is a sweet, crispy dessert suitable for children and adults. It is made from a liquid batter containing flour, starch, rice flour, sugar, egg, milk, oil, and vanilla, then piped into a nonstick pan in a lattice pattern. The pieces are then rolled and browned in the oven using top heat only at 170°C for about 7 minutes, until crisp.
A crispy sweet dessert that can be served as a snack or treat at any time.
Similar to a crunchy sweet snack bar or pastry treat.
Ingredients
- 75 g all-purpose flour
- 40 g (2 tablespoons) cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons ground rice
- 50 g (2½ tablespoons) sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1½ tablespoons vegetable oil
- 100 ml (½ cup) milk
Instructions
- Put the milk in the mixing bowl.
- Add the egg to the mixing bowl.
- Add the vegetable oil to the mixing bowl.
- Add the vanilla to the mixing bowl.
- Add the sugar to the mixing bowl.
- Add the rice flour to the mixing bowl.
- Add the cornstarch to the mixing bowl.
- Add the plain flour to the mixing bowl.
- Stir all the ingredients in the mixing bowl for about 3 minutes, until the sugar dissolves, the flour lumps disappear, and the mixture becomes a loose liquid batter.
- Place a piping bag or cream bag over a strainer.
- Make a very small hole in one corner of the piping bag or cream bag.
- Strain the mixture through the strainer directly into the piping bag or cream bag.
- Heat a Tefal or granite nonstick pan over medium heat.
- Pipe the mixture from the piping bag or cream bag into the nonstick pan in a lattice pattern or randomly.
- Leave the dessert piece in the nonstick pan until it takes on color on the underside.
- Lift the dessert piece from the nonstick pan and roll it while warm.
- Arrange the dessert pieces on a baking tray.
- Place the baking tray in the oven for about 7 minutes.
- Use the oven's top heat only at 170°C while browning the dessert pieces in the oven.
- Remove the baking tray from the oven once the dessert pieces are crisp.
