
French Petit Fours

These are meant to be small, decorative sweets for special occasions.
Ingredients
- 200 g [1 cup], at room temperature butter
- 240 g [2 cups] powdered sugar
- 250 g [2 cups] flour
- 4 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
Instructions
- In a bowl, cream the room-temperature butter until soft and creamy.
- In the bowl, add the powdered sugar gradually, stirring until all of it is incorporated.
- In the bowl, add the egg whites gradually, stirring until all of them are incorporated.
- In the bowl, add the vanilla.
- In the bowl, add the flour gradually, stirring gently until a batter with a musabaha-like consistency forms.
- Preheat the oven to 170°C with both top and bottom heat 15 minutes before baking.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or pastry cream bag, then pipe onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between the pieces.
- In a bowl with a little water, lightly moisten your finger to neaten the end of each piece for a nicer shape.
