
Hot Lemonade
A hot lemon drink with a distinctive flavor.
A warm lemonade drink.
Like hot lemon drink or lemon tea without tea.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (400 ml) lemon juice
- 2 cups (400 ml) water
- half a cup orange blossom water
- 10–15 pods whole cardamom pods
- half a teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 cup (200 grams) sugar
- from the squeezed lemons lemon pulp, with the seeds removed
Instructions
- Squeeze the lemons into a bowl until you have 400 ml of lemon juice.
- Strain the lemon juice into a bowl and add the pulp after removing the seeds.
- Place the water and sugar in a pot over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to boil.
- Add the whole cardamom pods to the pot; the pods can be cracked open by hand before adding.
- Add half a teaspoon of ground cardamom to the pot.
- Add the lemon juice to the pot and let the mixture come to a boil.
- Add the orange blossom water to the pot as the final step, as adding it from the beginning may weaken or evaporate its aroma.
- Leave the mixture over the heat for about 5 minutes after adding the orange blossom water.
- Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and leave for about a quarter of an hour.
- Pour the drink into the strainer, then serve hot in finjans.
