Pot Cake with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs eggs
  • 1 cup sugar, 150 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla, 10 g vanilla
  • 1 cup milk, 200 ml milk
  • 1 tea glass vegetable oil, 50 ml vegetable oil
  • 2 cups flour, 200 g flour
  • 1/5 tbsp baking powder baking powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water, 200 ml water
  • 1/5 cocoa powder cocoa powder
  • 1/5 flour flour
  • 4 tbsp sugar sugar
  • a little water in the pot water
  • a piece of cloth over the pot lid cloth
  • used to cover the top of the pot kitchen towel
  • a little fruit for garnish fruit

Instructions

  1. In a pot, add a little water, cover the pot, and place it over the heat to warm the water.
  2. In a cake pan, grease the pan with butter, then add flour and shake the pan until the flour coats all sides.
  3. In a bowl, whisk 3 room-temperature eggs with 1 cup sugar, 150 g, and 1 tablespoon vanilla or 1 packet vanilla, 10 g, until the volume increases and the mixture becomes pale.
  4. In the same bowl, add 1 cup milk, 200 ml, and 50 ml vegetable oil, and mix.
  5. In another bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 200 g, with 1/5 tablespoon baking powder, then add them to the cake mixture and fold from the bottom upward until the flour dissolves.
  6. In the bowl, take a portion of the batter and make a cocoa mixture by adding 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, then stir. If the mixture becomes thick, add a little warm milk.
  7. In the pan, pour in the white batter and the dark batter alternately, or in layers, as desired and shown in the video.
  8. In the pot, place the pan over the boiling water, then tightly close the pot with a lid covered with a cloth/kitchen towel, taking care that the towel does not hang down toward the heat.
  9. In the pot over low heat, leave the cake for about half a sa'a until cooked.
  10. In another pot, mix 4 tablespoons sugar, 1/5 cocoa powder, and 1/5 flour with 1 cup milk, 200 ml, and 1 cup water, 200 ml.
  11. In the pot, place the sauce mixture over the heat and stir until it boils and the sauce thickens.
  12. In the pot, remove the cake once cooked, let it rest briefly, then invert it.
  13. On a serving plate, pour the chocolate sauce over the cake and garnish with a little fruit.
