
Boiled Milk Cake

- 2 cups (270 g) Flour
- 4 eggs, at room temperature Eggs
- 1 cup (200 g) Sugar
- 1 cup (200 ml) Milk
- half a cup (100 ml) Vegetable oil
- 80 g Butter
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) Baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla
- a pinch Salt
- 1¼ cups Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Liquid vanilla
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven with bottom heat only to 170°C, 15 minutes before baking.
- Place the butter and milk in a saucepan over low heat until they boil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the room-temperature eggs with the sugar, oil, and vanilla, then beat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes pale in color.
- In another bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and salt.
- Sift the dry flour mixture over the egg mixture in the mixing bowl.
- Stir until the flour lumps disappear and the batter is thick and smooth.
- Add the boiling milk and butter to the mixing bowl in stages, stirring gradually.
- Grease the cake pan with butter, then dust it with flour.
- Pour the cake batter into the cake pan.
- Tap the cake pan on the work surface for two minutes to release the bubbles.
- Place the cake pan on the middle rack of the oven at 170°C with bottom heat only for 45 minutes. It may need a few extra minutes, until the top is golden and the cake is cooked through.
- Remove the cake pan from the oven and let the cake cool.
- Loosen the edges of the cake from the pan, then invert it onto a serving plate.
