
Qamar al-Din Juice with Almonds
A drink made from qamar al-din apricot sheet and served with almonds.
A fruit drink made from qamar al-din apricot sheet, served with almonds.
Like a sweet apricot drink.
Qamar al-din is a common Ramadan apricot drink base.
Ingredients
- 400 g Qamar al-din apricot sheet
- 300 g or 1½ cups Sugar
- 2 liters Water
- a little Ice
- a little Crushed almonds
Instructions
- Cut the qamar al-din apricot sheet in a bowl or on any suitable surface into thin pieces so that it dissolves quickly in the water.
- Place the cut qamar al-din in a pot or mixing bowl, then add the sugar and hot water and stir until it begins to dissolve.
- Leave the mixture in the pot or bowl for at least five hours; preferably overnight, until the qamar al-din softens well.
- After soaking, transfer the mixture to an electric blender, add the ice, then blend continuously for five minutes.
- After blending, add a second liter of cold water to the blender or to the blended mixture after transferring it, then blend again until the consistency is uniform.
- Add the crushed almonds to the blender or to the juice after adding the cold water, then pour the qamar al-din juice into glasses and serve cold.
