Stuffed Mushrooms with Meat and Spinach

Stuffed mushrooms with meat and spinach: a filling of spinach, ground meat, and onion is prepared with salt and pepper; colored bell peppers may be added. Large mushroom caps are then filled, topped with mozzarella or Kashkaval cheese, and baked until the cheese melts and the mushrooms are cooked through.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • optional Colored bell peppers
  • 1 Coarsely chopped medium onion
  • as desired Ground meat
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Mozzarella or Kashkaval cheese
  • as needed Large mushrooms
  • Spinach, prepared for filling

Instructions

  1. Wash the large mushrooms and place them in a bowl before filling.
  2. Place the spinach, ground meat, and chopped onion in a skillet. Add the salt and spices, then stir the filling until it comes together and becomes creamy.
  3. If using, sauté the colored bell peppers in the skillet, then add them to the filling or cook them with it as desired.
  4. Brush the mushrooms with oil and fill them with the meat and spinach mixture in a baking tray or ovenproof dish.
  5. Add mozzarella or Kashkaval cheese on top of the stuffed mushrooms in the tray.
  6. Place the tray in the oven until the cheese melts and the mushrooms are cooked through.
