Stuffed Pizza
Pizza stuffed with filling inside the dough.
Pizza made with a filling inside the dough.
Like a stuffed crust or stuffed bread pizza.
Let the dough rise well so it bakes light and soft.
Ingredients
- 800–1000 g Dough
- 500 g Kashkaval or mozzarella cheese
- Pizza sauce
- Black olives
- Mixed-color bell peppers
- Sliced mushrooms
- Tomato slices
- Oregano
- 1 One egg, for brushing
- Mortadella
- Cooked corn
- a little Milk
- ¼ spoonful Vinegar
- Tuna
Instructions
- Stretch the dough on the work surface by hand. Those who cannot stretch it by hand may use a rolling pin.
- Stretch the dough on the work surface to an even thickness, trying to maintain a round shape.
- Make the dough round larger than the baking pan.
- Grease the baking pan with oil.
- Brush away any excess flour from the surface of the dough before transferring it, so that the dough surface does not crack after brushing.
- Drape the dough over your hand or roll it onto itself, then transfer it to the baking pan so that the edges of the dough extend beyond the pan.
- Arrange the dough in the pan, ensuring that the overhanging portion is even on all sides.
- Mix the cheese with the mortadella in a bowl if you wish to use mortadella; the cheese may also be left on its own without mortadella.
- Mix the egg with a little milk and ¼ spoonful of vinegar in a bowl to prepare the brushing mixture.
- Brush the overhanging edge of the dough in the pan with the egg mixture.
- Distribute the cheese mixture over the overhanging edge of the dough in the pan, using as much as desired.
- Pull the overhanging edge of the dough over the filling in the pan, then press it with your fingers to seal.
- Continue sealing the stuffed edge all around the pizza in the pan.
- Shape the stuffed edge in the pan with your fingers until it is even.
- Brush the edges of the stuffed pizza in the pan with the egg mixture.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the center of the dough in the pan.
- Distribute the cheese over the pizza sauce in the pan, using as much as desired.
- Distribute the mixed bell peppers over the cheese in the pan.
- Add the corn to the top of the pizza in the pan if you wish to use it.
- Distribute the mushrooms over the top of the pizza in the pan.
- Distribute the black olives over the top of the pizza in the pan.
- Add the tomato slices over the top of the pizza in the pan.
- A piece of bell pepper may be placed on the edges in the pan for decoration.
- Preheat the oven for 10 to 12 minutes at 220°C, with both the top and bottom heat on.
- Place the pizza pan on the lower rack in the oven, not on the oven floor.
- Bake the pizza in the oven, monitoring it continuously, until the bottom is cooked.
- Move the pizza pan higher in the oven after the bottom is cooked to brown the top.
- Remove the pizza pan from the oven once it turns golden.
- Sprinkle oregano over the pizza while it is hot after removing it from the oven.
- Cut the pizza and serve it hot.
