
Professional Steak in Ten Minutes
This is a quick, professional-style beef steak cooked in a very hot pan, seasoned simply with salt and pepper, then finished with butter, garlic, and fresh thyme or rosemary. The meat is rested before serving and served with a creamy spinach and cheese sauce and seasoned roasted potatoes.

Ingredients
- 400 g beef steak
- salt
- pepper
- 100 g butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1 small onion
- 2 bunches of spinach
- 1/4 tsp salt
- a pinch pepper
- a pinch dried pepper
- 1/4 cup cream
- 2 pieces Cheddar or Kashkaval cheese
- 1/2 kg small potatoes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp curry powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 spray oil
Instructions
- Heat the pan over high heat until it is very hot before adding the steak.
- Take the beef steak out of the refrigerator and leave it at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
- If moisture appears on the meat, pat the steak dry with kitchen paper before seasoning.
- Season both sides of the steak with salt and coarse pepper before placing it in the pan.
- Spray the hot pan once with oil.
- Place the steak in the pan and leave it undisturbed until it develops color underneath.
- Turn the steak over in the pan and leave it until the second side develops color.
- Add 100 g butter, 2 garlic cloves, and fresh thyme or rosemary to the pan.
- Move the steak around the pan with the butter, garlic, and herbs until the butter caramelizes and the meat takes on the flavor.
- Cook the steak until it reaches a medium doneness level according to the touch test mentioned in the instructions, then turn off the heat.
- Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a plate for at least 5 minutes.
- Prepare the spinach in the pan: add 1 finely chopped small onion with a little olive oil.
- Add 2 bunches of spinach to the pan with the onion.
- Season the spinach in the pan with 1/4 tsp salt, a pinch of pepper, and a pinch of dried pepper.
- Add 1/4 cup cream to the pan with the spinach.
- Add 2 pieces of Cheddar or Kashkaval cheese to the pan with the spinach until the sauce forms.
- Serve the steak hot with the spinach sauce and potatoes.
