
Easy Tiramisu Without Mascarpone
This is an economical tiramisu recipe without mascarpone, made with egg yolks, sugar, flour, cornstarch, and milk, then lightened with labneh. It is assembled with ladyfingers dipped in Nescafé and warm water, chilled for 10 to 12 hours, and dusted with cocoa before serving.
A tiramisu-style dessert made without mascarpone cheese.
Like a coffee-flavored layered cream dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 Egg yolks
- 1 Dash of liquid vanilla
- 1 cup Sugar
- 4 tablespoons Flour
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1 liter and 1 cup (1200 ml) Milk
- 400 g Labneh
- 3 packets Ladyfinger biscuits
- 3 tablespoons Plain Nescafé
- half a liter Warm water
- as needed for garnish Cocoa for garnish
- half a liter Warm water
- ice cubes Ice
- mentioned only in the negative: it is not included Mascarpone cream/ashta
Instructions
- In a bowl, separate 4 egg yolks from the whites and place the yolks in the bowl.
- In the same bowl, add 1 dash of liquid vanilla, 1 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons flour, and 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
- In the same bowl, add 1 liter and 1 cup of milk, or 1200 ml milk.
- In the same bowl, whisk the mixture while cold until combined.
- In a pot, place the mixture over the heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and comes to a few boils.
- In the pot, continue stirring until the flour and cornstarch taste disappears and the mixture becomes thick.
- In another bowl, or in the same pot after removing it from the heat, leave the mixture until it cools.
- In a mixing bowl, add 400 g labneh to the cooled mixture.
- In the bowl, whisk the labneh with the mixture until smooth and homogeneous.
- In a small bowl, place 3 tablespoons plain Nescafé with half a liter of warm water and stir until dissolved.
- In a baking tray or Pyrex dish, quickly dip the ladyfinger biscuits in the Nescafé mixture.
- In the Pyrex dish, arrange a first layer of dipped ladyfinger biscuits.
- In the Pyrex dish, spread part of the cream mixture over the biscuit layer.
- In the Pyrex dish, arrange a second layer of dipped ladyfinger biscuits over the mixture.
- In the Pyrex dish, spread the remaining cream mixture over the second layer.
- In the Pyrex dish, cover the tiramisu with a lid or plastic wrap and leave it in the refrigerator for 10 to 12 hours.
- In the Pyrex dish, dust the surface with cocoa after it has completely chilled and before serving.
